——The East and the West

The East and the West, Let’s enjoy the combination of the two cultures? Kipling said:“East is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet!” But now, a century later, they have met.

They have met in business. They have met in education. They have met in the arts. Some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but I believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. We can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use. We can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.

I love Beijing and Hennan opera because it always reminds me of who I am. But I am also a fan of pop music, especially English songs. So I have combined eastern melody with western language. It is called western henna opera.

When two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other. When this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture. Then there are certain things some people may not like. To this, I will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it. To learn to tolerate what you personally don’t like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge. Before us, there are two rivers, eastern and western cultures. At present, they may run in different courses. But eventually, they will converge into the vast sea of human culture.

Right now, I can see peoples of eastern and western cultures, standing side by side, singing the Olympic theme song: we are hand in hand, heart to heart, together we will shape a beautiful tomorrow! Thank you!

Another component is the ability to expreoneself . In today s world , what really counts is the ability to expreoneself rather than technical competence or professional knowledge . The larger the orgnization of which you are an employee , and th fiercer the competition , the more important it will be that you know how to convey your thoughts and convince others of your ideas. Personality is also an important factor. Whatever difficulty or situation , those who appear relaxed and confident are nearer to success. Obviously , among the ingredients for succe, intelligence counts for the half , the rest depends on your personality , and other abilities.

Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing times success would be rather simple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now I am

complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social status success? No, I don’t think so. I believe success is the realization of people’s hopes and days, in the modern society there are many people

who are regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is real success. We all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must need something inside, which is the realization ofpeople’ hopes and ideals.

Different people have different ideas about success; cause people’s hopes and ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud that I have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success, cause I raise up to challenge my hope.

战国末期，七国争雄。七国之中，唯秦最强。

秦国向赵国下了战书，扬言出兵三十万，一月之内灭掉赵国。当赵国国王接到战书时，秦军已站在秦王宫广场上接受秦王赢政的训话。

秦王宫广场

西北的大风，三分阴寒七分凌厉，风吹在赢政身上，显现的是一种不可一世的王者霸气;风吹进黑压压一片的军阵中，散发出的是那股攻必破、战必胜的无敌杀气。

“将士们!你们是大秦顶尖的勇士，是寡人心目中的英雄。你们随时要记住，我们大秦的铁骑，开拓的那是一片大大的疆土!”

将士们举戈高喊：“大王英明，大王万岁!”

赢政从腰间擎出太阿宝剑望东一指：“出发!”

浩浩荡荡的秦军潮水般涌出王宫，乘着西北凌厉的大风杀奔赵国。

赵王宫内

赵王接到秦国的战书，心惊胆战，立即召集文武众臣商议。一位大臣上奏：“大王，秦军这回肯定倾尽全国之力来攻打我国，自长平一战后，我国元气大伤，为了保存全国百姓及大王的性命，我看我们还是——开城投降吧!”

此言一出，群臣皆惊，然后是一片附和声：“对啊，秦军来势凶猛，我们还是投降吧!”

赵王气得全身发抖：“你们......你们真把寡人气死啊!”

突然一阵雷鸣打断了大臣们的议论声：“不准投降!”

飞龙将军出列禀奏：“现在是国家危难之时，怎能俯首称臣?大王，微臣愿率一万精兵去守关，保卫大赵江山。望大王恩准!”

赵王心中大喜：“好!只有在危难之时，寡人才知道谁是真正的英雄。”立即拨了一万五千精兵给飞龙将军，还将劝降的大臣统统斩首示众。赵国百姓人人积极应征，同仇敌忾，以迎战西来的豺狼。

金平关迎敌

这天，三十万秦军摆起一字长蛇阵向赵国边塞第一关金平关进发。秦军身着黑色军服，关前十里的白沙霎时间变成了黑色的海洋，黑色的潮水乘着西北的狂风向关上涌来。守关的士兵见秦军杀到，立即飞报将军，将军抖擞精神冲上城楼一望，只见前军是举盾如山的盾牌军，中军是举戈如林的长戈军，后军是不计其数的弓弩军，黑色的军旗上绣着一个大大的“秦”字。黑色的潮水在怒号的秋风中翻滚着，汹涌着。

秦军统帅突然令旗一举，全军停住，然后挥动令旗，弓弩军立即变作前军，一时间弩车、脚弩、手拉弩各就各位，只等统帅一声令下。肃杀的秋风冲进箭阵中，也准备与秦箭一同建功立业，开拓大秦江山。

将军望见秦军大摆箭阵，右手一挥，大喝一声：“防御!”一排排铜盾在城楼上立起，如同一面铜墙铁壁。雄壮的号角声吹起，雄浑的秋风将地上的白沙卷起，犹如一条玉龙平地而起，怒视着三十万秦国虎狼之师，在阳光的照耀下，杀气冲天。

“射!!!”

“风!风!风!!”

秦军统帅一声怒喝，千万支弩箭驾着秋风从秦军阵中杀出，弩箭如飞蝗般杀进关内，巧妙地飞过了城楼，绕过了铜墙铁壁，把来不及躲避的百姓统统射杀，弩箭穿进木屋，将在屋里躲箭的百姓杀了个干净。飞蝗一波一轮地从秦军阵中密密麻麻的杀出，一些狡猾的飞蝗绕过铜盾，狠狠地叮在士兵的肩膀、手臂、大腿上，士兵痛得靠着墙坐在地上。将军见此情形大喝一声：“起来，都给我站起来!你们都是大赵最强的勇士。国家正需要我们，我们又怎能倒下?!”受伤的士兵听了将军斩钉截铁的话，士气大振，个个忘了伤痛，英勇地从地上爬起，继续高举盾牌，保护着赵国的百姓——尽管关内的百姓都死了个精光。

五轮箭阵后，秦军统帅感到奇怪：以往两轮箭阵就可以将城中一切防御力量消灭殆尽，为何这次赵国城楼上的铜墙铁壁却连五轮箭阵都奈何不得?于是下令——“攻城!”

进城

城门极其容易地攻破了——没有一个赵军阻挡，城里百姓都死于乱箭之下，尸横遍地，血流成河，城里阴风阵阵，寒气彻骨，活似一座人间森罗殿。

秦军统帅率军攻上城楼，他要看看到底是什么力量让赵军打破了秦军箭阵无敌的神话。上到城楼，看到的景象令他大吃一惊——守城的将士们身上插满了箭，却依旧保持着举盾的姿势，没有一个人倒下，特别是飞龙将军。他双目怒视前方，双手撑着一支金枪，威武地立在那里，宁死不倒。血，从他额头流至喉处，铠甲的领子染成了红色，为保护赵国的百姓，他用自己的身躯挡住了秦军的百万弩箭，始终没有倒下，他与所有士兵一样——都是站着死的。

秦军统帅摘下头盔，对这些赤胆忠心的赵国将士们深深地鞠了三个躬，并下令厚葬。

忠烈墓前

肃杀的西风，迷茫的长空，凄厉的雁鸣，军号声沉重地被凛冽的秋风所切割和撕裂，断断续续，慷慨悲壮，似乎在哭祭。
