高一学生英语演讲稿 篇2

My Definition of Success

“Once upon a time, there was a king who had a daughter as beautiful as a blooming rose. To all the suitors who came to the king's palace to ask for the hand of the princess, the old king assigned three tasks to be accomplished, each next to impossible. One day, into the king's palace came a handsome young prince..." Well, you know the rest. The three tasks may be different in different versions, but the main plot is always the same, with the prince claiming the princess's hand triumphantly.

And the ending is always the same, finishing with the line "And they live happily every after."

Why aren't we tired of something so fanciful, so unrealistic, and, I would say, so unimaginative? How can a story like that endure generations of repetition`? Because, I think, it is a typical success story. It is highly philosophical and symbolic. By implication, we see a 4-step definition of success: 1 ) a goal to be set. as represented by the beautiful princess; 2 ) challenges to be met, as represented by the three tasks; 3 ) the process of surmounting difficulties, as represented by the ordeals the youth goes through; and 4 ) the reward of success, as represented by the happy marriage.

The story not only caters to everyone's inward yearning for success, but also emphasizes the inseparability of the process and the result. The reward of success will be much amplified if the path leading towards it is treacherous, and vice versa. If a person inherits his father's millions and leads an easy life, he is not a successful person even in material terms, because there are no difficulties involved in his achieving affluence. The term "success", to be sure. will not sit still for easy definition. But as I understand it, the true meaning of success entails a combination of both the process and the satisfactory result of an endeavor. To clarify my view, let me give another analogy.

If we changed the rules of football, greatly enlarged the goal and sent away David Seaman or any other goal keeper, so that another David, namely David Beckham, could score easily, then scoring would not give him the thrill of accomplishment and the joy that it brings. If we further changed the rules by not allowing Arsenal's defenders to defend, so that Beckham needed only to lift a finger, actually a toe, to score, then there would be no game at all, because the meaning of winning would have disappeared. In accepting the challenge, in surmounting the difficulties and in enduring the hardship, success acquires its value. The sense of attainment varies in proportion to the degree of difficulties on overcomes.

The concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. Something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. In acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. That's why we greatly admire Stephen Hawking, because, though confined to a wheel chair, he has contributed greatly to the field of science.

I myself, a rather shy person by nature who easily suffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. I could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not entering the university level I chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. Now here I am. If I come out first, it will be a great success for me. If I come out last-I hope this will not be the case-but if I come out last, I will not call my attempt a failure, but will also celebrate it as a true success, because part of my goal is my own character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. For me, it is a meaningful step forward, small as it is, in the long journey toward the final success in my life, because I have truly gained by participating.

Let us return to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. You my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. The ancient wisdom had already defined the meaning of success, and this is my definition, too.

Thank you.

I Agree or not agree: the next twenty years from now on, students will not use printed books any more.

I don't think so. printed books won't be abandoned in such a short time. I admit that new technology is developing fast. Many advanced electronic products are gradually take the place of traditional tools. Just like in university, teachers like to use multimedia in class for it is quite convenient and efficient. However, for our student, it is not realistic to study completely by electronic products.

There are many things need to recorded on books. Books are something meaningful and practical. I should say, in our country, printed books wouldn't be abandoned within 20 years at least for two reasons. Firstly, books are classical container of knowledge. They accompany human to advance. A student without books could be someway ridiculous. Secondly, our country haven't developed so strong to make every student study by computer or other forms of electronic tools. And even after 20 years, the possibility is also very small. I also think it is unnecessary because books are cheap but useful and still meaningful.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,

I am Chinese. I am proud of being a Chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. I've learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. I've learned about the Great Wall and the Yangtze River. I've learned about Zhang Hengand I've learned about Zheng says the Yellow River Civilization has vanished?I know that my ancestors have made miracleson this fertile land and we're still making miracles. Who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our GNP ranks No. 7 in the world? We have experienced the plunders by other nations, and we have experienced the war. Yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----China, unyielding and unconquerable!

I once came across an American tourist. She said, “China has a history of five thousand years, but the US only has a history of 200 years. Five thousand years ago, China took the lead in the world, and now it is the US that is leading.”My heart was deeply touched by these words. It is true that we're still a developing nation, but it doesn't mean that we can despise ourselves. We have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. We have reasons to say proudly: we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition is even bigger, our challenges are great, but our will is even greater.

I am Chinese. I have inherited black hair and black eyes. I have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. I have also taken over responsibility. I am sure, that wherever I go, whatever I do, I shall never forget that I am Chinese!

Thank you.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen

Today my topic is"Be more civilized to welcome the Expo"

As we all know, the next EXPO will be held in Shanghai in 21. We will have thousands of visitors here in our hometown, then how should we show our manners? Of course, all of us prefer to show our good manners, so we should pay attention to our daily customs, China is a traditional country with a long history. The young should show our Chinese culture and good manners to the world .I t is easy to say than to do ,most of us didn’t pay enough attention to “seven don’ts” sometimes they throw rubbish everywhere ,cross the road when the light is red ough they know these behavirous are not good ,they still do it .I hope everyone of us can take part in this social practice should carry ourselves well ,respect our teachers and so on ,try to show our best manners to the world .

I think ,we should follow the next three points in our daily life :

First :Keep our clothes clean and neat ,too much make up looks unnatural for us .

Second :We should obey the old saying “See no evil ,hear no evil ,speak no evil .”

Third :We should be polite to others ,especially to the foreigners the Expo comes ,there will be a lot of foreigners ,we can show friendliness to them ,we can show the way to them ,say “hello “to them ,and I think our smiling faces are also necessary .

Show good manners to welcome the 21 Expo .

Are you ready?

Students, guests , teachers and Honorable Judges.

Good morning !

my great pleasure to share my dream with you today. my dream is to become a teacher....

As the whole world has its boundaries, limits and freedom coexist in our life. I don’t expect complete freedom, which is impossible. I simply have a dream that supports my life.

I dream that one day, I could escape from the deep sea of thick schoolbooks and lead my own life. With my favorite fictions, I lie freely on the green grass, smelling the spring, listening to the wind singing, breathing the fresh and cool air and dissolve my soul in nature at last. Simple and short enjoyment can bring me great satisfaction.

I dream that one day the adults could throw their prejudice of comic and cartoon away. They could keep a lovely heart that can share sorrow and happiness with us while watching cartoon or doing personal things. That’s the real communication of heart to heart.

I have the belief that my dreams should come true. I am looking forward to some day coming when I am like a proud eagle, which flies to the blue and vast sky.

A friend of mine named Paul received an automobile from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it.

"Is this your car, Mister?" he said.

Paul nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Christmas." The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish . . ." He hesitated.

Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Paul all the way down to his heels.

"I wish," the boy went on, "That I could be a brother like that."

Paul looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my car?"

"Oh yes, Id love that."

After a short ride, the boy turned with his eyes aglow, said, "Mister, would you mind driving in front of my house?"

Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Paul was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?" the boy asked.

He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car.

"There she is, Buddy, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Christmas and it didn’t cost him a cent. And some day Im gonna give you one just like it . . . then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Christmas windows that Ive been trying to tell you about." Paul got out and lifted the lad to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride. That Christmas Eve, Paul learned

what Jesus meant when he said: "It is more blessed to give . . . "

Honourable judges and friends,

Good morning! I am very glad to be here to share my college life with you .

Two years ago, I came into this city of and started my college life , the most memorable journey of my life. I was just a shy and little girl that time. all the things seemed fresh to me: new faces, large library and physics lab etc. I breathed the air of college greedily, I was curious about class given by the teachers are provide us with information not only from our textbook but from other sources as well.I actively involved in student union and varies of association. But soon I realized that I do not make full use of my spare time ,so I got a part-time job to help a junior student with math lessons Besides,I also took part in activities concerning public welfare. We taught the kids there who could not afford school, I was deeply touched by their eagerness to learn, The precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us--future teachers. The enrichment of experience taught me the significance of modesty, responsibility, tolerance, and perseverance.

And now I have been here two years. recalling to the two years, I think I have to talk about one thing--learning. learn how to study independently, learn how to get along with others, learn to love, learn to… oh, there are too much things we have to learn.

Comparing with senior high school, college is a rather different place. there aren’t so many people to watch you and guide you how to do something any more, neither are there so many students who share with you one dream. in college, you must think and study yourself, so you have to learn and practice to control yourself.

Another relationship in college is friendship. my roommates have lived two years with me. in these years, they forgive my faults, cry with me, laugh with me, play with me… they always stand with me and support me, I have learned a lot from them. I love them all and treasure the friendship with them.

In the next 2 years,I’ll try my best to and make great contributions to society! that’s my college life. I cherish all I have experienced in college. I love you, my college!

That’s all, thank you!

Good morning(afternoon), dear teachers and fellow students. It’s my great honor to stand here and share with you a happy morning(afternoon). I am No__. My topic is “Keep your goal in mind” .I hope you will enjoy it.

Do you have a goal for your work? Do you have a goal for your study? Do you have a goal for your life? Maybe I will get an affirmative reply. Yeah, Everyone has a goal of doing something. There is no doubt that a goal is very important in our life. Now I want to tell you a true story in my school life. I have learned a lot from it.

I never forget last year’s school sports meeting. 1500-meter race was one of the most exciting. Before the race, my best friend XiaoShan had a goal to be No. 1. As a matter a fact, she is not so strong, but she is a sunny girl. She is active and likes doing sports. What’s more, she tries her best to achieve the goal, but I wonder if she is able to be the champion. There were eight players in the race. On the first lap, she was in the sixth place; On the second lap, the took the fourth place, she went on running and she ran toward her goal, the goal in her mind, Look! On the last lap, she was the first to pass the finishing line, she was the winner. Oh, great! She made it! Congratulations!

At that time, I knew a goal was so necessary and important. I made a decision : “I want to take part in the English Speaking Competition held in my school. What’s more, I will try my best to be No.1 in the competition as my best friend XiaoShan did in sports meet. ” I am sure of it. I still remembered what my English teacher said to us. He said :“if anyone took the first place in our school English speaking competition, he or she will be chose to take the competition held in Jinjiang. It’s a great honor!”

Though I can do well in my English written exams, however, to be honest, I am a little afraid to speak English in public. My English teacher often encourages me: “RaoNing, your voice sounds so beautiful, be brave, you will succeed.” From then on, I kept a goal in mind. I said to myself aloud: Stick to your goal and you will win. And then I try my best to improve my oral English and dare to speak either in class or after class. At last, I took part in the Competition and became No. 1. I am chose to take part in the next year’s English Speaking Competition held in Jinjiang. I said to myself aloud again: Come on! You will win.

How time flies! Today I am a lucky dog. I am very honored to give you a speech. I hope everyone has a dream! In fact, we should work hard to make our dream come true. Otherwise it will become day dream. At the same time, I hope everyone has a goal in mind, because the goal is the first step to success. Come on, my friends, goal, goal, goal, success, success, success!

That’s all. Thank you for your attention.

Youth Day (青年节) in the People's Republic of China is on May 4. It was established in December 1949 by the Government Administration Council to commemorate the beginning of the May Fourth Movement in 1919. This day is known as ...

May Fourth Movement

Chinese intellectual revolution and sociopolitical reform movement (1917 – 21). In 1915 young intellectuals inspired by Chen Duxiu began agitating for the reform and strengthening of Chinese society through acceptance of Western science, democracy, and schools of thought, one objective being to make China strong enough to resist Western imperialism. On May 4, 1919, reformist zeal found focus in a protest by Beijing's students against the Versailles Peace Conference's decision to transfer former German concessions in China to Japan. After more than a month of demonstrations, strikes, and boycotts of Japanese goods, the government gave way and refused to sign the peace treaty with Germany. The movement spurred the successful reorganization of the Nationalist Party and gave birth to the Chinese Communist Party. See also Treaty of Versailles.

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude to me is more important than facts.

It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what the other people think, say,or do.

It is more important than the appearance, the giftedness or skill.

It will make or break a company,a church ,a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day, regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

We cannot change our cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one stage we that is our attitudes.

I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me ,and ninety percent how I react to so it is with you.

We are in charge of our attitudes.

高一学生英语演讲稿 篇14

For our students, marks is above everything. Teachers will judge us fromour marks. With marks we can be enrolled into junior middle schools. With marks,we can be enrolled into senior middle schools. With marks we can be enrolledinto college. With marks we can be enrolled into postgraduate and doctrinestudies. Still with marks we can be graded and be allowed to go abroad forfurther studies. Our parents will be strict with us with the marks. Our societyjudge us from marks. However, sometimes we students compare one another withmarks directly. We are completely controlled by marks. We like them and we feelsorry for them. But what attitude towards our marks should we take?

Truly, marks functions cannot be underestimated. In terms of test in ourstudy, marks are fair and real. That is the reason why we say "Everyone is equalbefore marks. "

However, I think marks are the sole standard to judge the success orfailure of students in exams. Sometimes, marks more than ten or less than one ortwo in our exams comparing with others mean not everything. The success orfailure in exams will be influenced by experience on the spot and the examinee’shealth etc. Once in a while one cannot fail in exams. " Success or failure iscommon sense for military. " I think everyone is familiar with the famoussaying. Don’t you think such will be the case with our study? In exams, onecannot be " never-defeated general" . Even though one will be very good ineveryday study, he cannot succeed in every exam sometimes. We can get proof fromthe fact that the very best one we call "Number One Scholar" in the entranceexams for college and ordinary middle school and specialized secondary schoolover the years is not eminent above all others nor top student in everystudy.

As a matter of fact, "high marks" and "ability" are not unified. Some timeago, a new phrase " high marks but poor competence" came into being. Once Ihappened to meet such a teacher as this is said that the teacher justgraduated from a far-famed key university. But his teaching result is much lessthan that of the one who just graduated from a not-well-renowned college. Whenlecturing, the teacher only repeated what the text-books says, which was verydull so the his students’ interest in learning was not aroused. His teaching wasshort of unity of teaching and learning. At present there is a fact that we knowa few brilliant and top college graduates are not qualified for their posts. Thereason for it may be lack of the ability to combine knowledge learnt from bookswith pragmatics in their work. Students of this kind will be successful in everyexam but they will be able to use freely their knowledge in their posts. Don’tyou think it waste training such persons for the country?

To sum up from the above, I can say marks are not absolutely authoritativefor some. If we neglect training and developing the students’ ability andcompetence and if we only seek for the high marks, we will be absolutely should take an objective attitude towards the marks. Neither should weneglect them nor should we overvalue them like a God.

I dream of being a doctor.

My mother is a doctor. She always has to work extra hours and comes home late and tired. She has to go to the hospital immediately any time she is needed, no matter how late it is at night. When I was very little and still in primary school, I once asked her why she chose such a boring and hard job. She answered with a smile, “Yes I am sometimes very tired but seeing my patients getting better and better makes me happy from the bottom of my heart.”

As I grow up, I gradually come to understand her words and realize doctors are noble. I made up my mind to be a doctor when I was in junior school and this has never changed since then.

I really hope to see a world where there is no cancer, no Aids, no fatal disease, no one suffering from illness. But this is only a fantasy. What about the reality? There are still many many people who are faced with disastrous disease and suffering from constant pain. There are still many many people living in miserable condition and live miserably. There are still many many people dying of cancer and leaving the beautiful world reluctantly. All those things make me feel sad because I think everyone has the right to live . I want to help the sick and reduce their pain as much as I can. I want to bring a healthy body to the patients and save their lives as many as I can. I want to see people cured ,living happily with their families and friends after my treatment. So I want to be a doctor ,an angel in white.

When I become a doctor, I will cherish each life regardless of the races, sexes, ages, positions and occupations. I will do every bit to cure the incurable.

I already have a dream in my heart,so I have to make every effort to realize a high school student now,I will seize every chance to study hard, arm myself with knowledge, prepare myself for the future and strive for my dreams. I will be determined, face the reality bravely and not surrender to any problems I meet.

Is’s like Gothe says,“The important thing in life is to have a great aim and be determined to attain it.”Being a doctor is my dream. I think it is simple but meanful.

The government and people of China have always admired the purposes and principles of the Olympic spirit and supported the efforts made by the Olympics in promoting world peace. With the development of society, harmony becomes the theme of this time. Everyone is doing his best to make the surroundings harmonious. As a member of our campus, we should take action in building the harmonious campus.

Here are some suggestions. First, treat people sincerely. We should be ready to help each other when someone is in trouble. Second, behave yourself. Keep our environment clean and take good care of every tree and every flower. Third, try to be polite. When we meet someone we know, a “hello” is good enough. Then, we can gain their respects for us.

Of course, there are still a lot of things we can do to build the harmonious campus. Anyway, doing something good to our campus is our duty. Let’s do it from now on.

My fellow and my friends;

Once I read a piece of news report. It says, "A middle school student in aremote mountainous area was doing his revision at home one day. His brother, whose age excelled school age, was playing and drawing on the paper with hiselder brother's pencil at his side. Suddenly the younger brother raised his headthoughtfully, his little eyes were winking, and said to his brother seriously,"When will it thirty-second, brother?" The elder brother looked at his innocentyounger brother and said with a smile, "What are you going to do on thatthirty-second?" "Papa promised me to send me to school," said his youngerbrother. His brother, the middle school student looked at his lovely brother andhis heart seemed to be stitched with needles. My God! My parents were workingday and night in order to be able to afford my schooling. They were could they afford my younger brother's schooling? Oh, thirty-second ...

My dear friends, hearing this, didn't you feel sorry for them? We share thesame native land, the same blue sky under the sun. Why cannot they be givenlesson at school, sitting in the bright and big classroom? We are used to sayingthat education goes first before vitalizing the country. But now the country'sfiscal solvency and material resources are not ample enough. What should we do?It requires that we should be of one heart and exert our efforts for ourmotherland.

I have a dream is to make reading become relaxed and happy.

Why do I have this dream? Because reading is too tired now I 6:30 in the morning when doing the dream also will hear mother shouted at my bedside "get up! Or else I will open a shrill alarm clock!" I heard that they should open the alarm clock had to get up right away. Then hurry clad wash gargle then rushed to the station on the way buy some snacks in a hurry to get on the bus on the way to chew breakfast while reading English. Immediately start to school the day I quickly closed my eyes. Back home to do my homework sometimes I work late to sleep very late which have time to play!

In order to children's study in the future life easy pleasant and being able to maintain a lot of knowledge. I want to invent a product in children born a small operation the kids can install a connected to the computer interface it can not like us every morning to go to school go home and do my homework. They just at the right time with the computer connection input to master the knowledge of can master all want to learn the knowledge. The children can play all day or exercise do things they are interested in. So the children can both enjoy the fun of childhood and to ensure that everyone is very good.

Childhood like that how beautiful it is! In order to achieve this dream now study hard though it was worth it!

I am losing friends left and right, well, actually, only left. Some friendships, however, have been strengthened during this election.

When I was 6, I learned a song: "Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other's gold." Even as a child, I was a born raconteur, so I always had lots of friends. But, by the time I got to fourth grade, I was already getting into political brawls. Early on, I began living my politically active mother's joke, "My name, it opens some doors and closes others."

I learned to tone it down a bit by the time I got to college. As a theater major, it was fun in an acting class one day, when we each had to pretend to be another student. I chose to mimic a beautiful petite girl with long dark hair. She was my polar opposite, this former cheerleader-turned-hippie-princess named Michelle. She got a kick out of my impression of her. I thought it was cool that she could laugh at herself. We began a friendship that has brought us to the present day.

Yet we were always opposites. I am Roman Catholic, she is Jewish. I am tall, she is short. One rainy afternoon on campus, Michelle insisted on carrying the umbrella for both of us, (I don't think I stood up straight until the next day!)

Back then, she was as passionate a Democrat as I was a Republican. However, my friend and I still had something in common that was more important than all the differences. We shared the same values and they showed up in a dozen little ways. That is why we are friends almost 30 years later. Furthermore, she had been moving in my direction politically before, but Sept. 11, 20xx, brought us to a new level of communication. We have bonded even more during this election.

Sadly, I also have re-evaluated some other friendships as tensions increased due to the Kerry-Edwards demagoguery. This is the first time in memory that I've even been appalled by both spouses of the Democratic ticket. I rather liked Tipper Gore and Hadassa Lieberman. I thought they were sweet. And that's the way I used to feel about my liberal pals. But, now a Teresa Heinz-Kerry-like irrationality/Elizabeth Edwards snotty innuendo has infected some of them -- and it makes them unpleasant to be around.

This election may leave those friendships in its wake. The outlook is definitely not good for their Christmas card inclusion.

Sept. 11, Iraq, the demonization of Israel by Kerry's European fans, the beheadings -- all of the latter just doesn't seem to change the '90s mentality of those I know who are voting for the Democratic Party ticket. Like Kerry, they still seem to consider the United States' life-and-death struggle a nuisance. These liberal friends of mine are certainly not bad people, but deep down, they still don't get that we are at war with a greater evil than any of us has ever known. Combined with the extremism culturally on the left, these people are becoming more than a nuisance themselves.

The sobering fact is that these friendships are just too taxing (in both senses of that word). Those relationships have become like old prom dresses in that they just don't fit anymore. There comes a point where some associations can become a fire hazard in one's closet. It may be time to do spring cleaning, even if the season is autumn.

Sure, friends can't agree on everything, nor are they supposed to but though I may think someone's a nice person, fun, etc., increasingly deep differences in our world view can't be ignored in these frightening times.

Three decades later, Michelle is no longer the shorter-than-me actress who insisted on carrying the umbrella as we walked to class, though she is still shorter than me. But she and I easily walk together under an umbrella of shared concerns. A few weeks ago we sat side by side at a most moving event celebrating Jewish and Christian support of Israel and each other.

Yet, we still live very different lives. My college friend has been married for 25 years to the love of her life, the mother of three and an executive in an entertainment corporation. And meanwhile her single free-lancing writer/actress friend, even after all these years still does impressions of her only in print now.

Happily, others have also come along to become comrades in arms this election. They represent a diversity in lifestyle that would warm any liberal's heart (although said liberal wouldn't warm our hearts). There's Genie the stockbroker, Cathy the casting director, Robin the mom of one of my former acting students, Sally the daughter of one of my mother's old friends and many others. Their e-mail messages and calls let me know that though other friendships may wither during this election, I'm hardly alone. They all have a point of view that enables us to skip to shorthand. ("Did you read Drudge?" "Yep!") All of these women make up my own personal non-elitist version of "The View, The Conservative Cut."

Yes, now those old children's lyrics resonate with a new meaning in "Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold." Regretfully, without shared values even after this tumultuous election of 20xx, some friendships may have turned to a tin that rings hollow in these perilous times.

By the way, I recently chatted with one of those former Brownies who sang with me so long ago, She is a "security mom." She is voting for George W. Bush and she will definitely be included on my Christmas card list.
